General Info

Right in the heart of Stevenage’s Market Place, the charming little spot known as Tea Cosy Cafe has a relaxed atmosphere that immediately feels welcoming. The location makes it an easy stop whether you’re exploring the town centre or simply looking for a calm corner to enjoy a good cup of coffee and a satisfying meal. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is exactly what you hope for from a neighborhood café-comfortable, friendly, and pleasantly unpretentious.

The menu keeps things simple but satisfying, focusing on familiar favorites that are done well. One of the highlights here is the English Breakfast. It’s the kind of hearty plate that sets you up perfectly for the day, especially if you arrive in the morning when the café is buzzing with locals. Alongside it, a freshly prepared Latte is a natural pairing. The coffee is smooth and comforting, ideal for lingering at a table while catching up with friends or scrolling through your phone.

If you’re visiting closer to lunchtime, the Cheeseburger is a solid choice from the menu. It’s straightforward comfort food, the type that works perfectly when you want something filling without overthinking it. Meanwhile, drinks remain a strong point here. Many visitors enjoy the Milk Tea, which adds a slightly sweeter option for those who prefer something lighter than coffee.

Another thing that stands out about Tea Cosy Cafe is how convenient the services are for everyday visitors. Guests can choose onsite services if they want to sit down and relax, or grab takeout if they’re on the move through the market area. The café is also equipped with a wheelchair accessible restroom, making the space more comfortable for a wider range of customers.

Little details make the experience smoother too. Dessert options are available for anyone with a sweet tooth after their meal, and the ability to pay using NFC mobile payments makes checkout quick and easy. These small touches show that the café understands how modern diners like to enjoy their meals.

Looking through customer reviews, a common theme appears: people appreciate the relaxed environment and the dependable menu. It’s not trying to be overly fancy, and that’s part of its charm. At this Stevenage location, Tea Cosy Cafe feels like the kind of place you return to again and again-whether it’s for a proper breakfast, a casual burger, or simply a quiet latte in the middle of the day.

“ 21Jun2024 Great little cafe, serving the basic traditional English meals and all-day-breakfasts. Cafe benefits from a large south-facing window, so lots of light. The window also faces one of the pedestrian thoroughfares of Stevenage New Town, so lots of opportunities for people-watching, and a respite place from the bustle of the central square and the Westgate centre. Right next to the indoor market and Lenny's Fish shop, so perfectly placed for a cheeky cappuccino while shopping for food. ”

- Martin Thornhill -

“ Gary and the staff have always been welcoming every time I visit the cafe. They have always got a great selection of food to have whether it's for breakfast or lunch whilst they're all at decent prices as well. Would definitely recommend it to anybody who fancies a fry up or a quick bite whilst they're in the town centre. ”
